Welcome to The Smithy in Talley. This iconic building, comprising the old smithy and forge, is centrally located in the village and the two parts straddle a stream. This wonderful old building has huge potential and we feel it deserves a sympathetic restoration, so we have big plans for it and are currently in the process of converting it into a tearoom, a shop and a community centre.
There is a but! It is taking more time than we anticipated to get through the planning process and, being determined to get started, we are setting up the shop in pop-up form, located in the cabin next to the Smithy. The cabin will supply takeaway coffee, fresh foods, essentials and some surprises and will be open five days a week initially, closed only on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
So drop by for a coffee, pick up some essentials or simply come for a chat. We’ll be happy to see you!
We open on Saturday, April 2nd at 10am and we’ll be open five days a week to start with, seven days when we get established.
Monday-Friday 7.30am - 5.30pm
Saturday 8.00am - 5pm
Sunday 10.00am - 4pm

It's official, Talley's got a shop again! Many thanks to everyone who showed up today (Saturday April 2nd) and looking forward to see everyone who hasn't made it yet soon :-)
A special thanks to Marged Bowen, chair of the Talley Community Council, for officially opening the shop this morning.
